Depending on whether you have a negative pressure vent, for instance a Hayward H250fdn pool heater with draft hood, you will need a b vent for your pool heater to abide by gas code laws. You would not be able to install this indoors because when an existing indoor swimming gas operated pool heater is being replaced with a new gas heater, the new finned tube should be of a direct vent pool heater.
